Faux Paws

CARE is blessed with so many amazing people. One of these blessings happens to be a 16 year old girl named Zoe. Zoe has been a part of the CARE family for the past 5 years. She has made a substantial business for herself called “Faux Paws” by Zoe (www.fauxpaws.biz), which has generated over $13,000 for animals in need including the big cats of CARE.

She first showed her love and support of the kitties with sales of her homemade flip-flops. It is hard to believe that young Zoe, who has done so much, could do even more. But, she has outdone herself once again. Zoe has come up with a unique idea; she and her friends would make the flip-flops from materials she has received from grants and funding provided by family and friends. CARE would then donate a plush hand-puppet to put them in (above). With a minimum donation of $10 to CARE, this gift will be presented to a homeless child in need at Vogel Alcove (www.vogelalcove.org). This non-profit organization gives parents a safe place to leave their children while they work to rebuild their lives. The Alcove remains the only early childhood program in Dallas whose primary focus is to serve very young homeless children residing with their families in local homeless and domestic violence shelters.

It is Zoe’s goal that ALL 110 children will have a handmade pair of flip-flops for the summer.

CARE Kids Destiny, Dakota and Dustin, have created a special extra gift for the littlest ones at Vogel Alcove: Homemade CARE baby booties (below).

It is truly amazing to see how contagious Zoe’s giving spirit has been. What a win-win-win-win program. CARE receives financial help to provide for the big cats, the Alcove children receive flip-flops by Zoe, the Alcove babies receive booties by the CARE Kids, and you receive the tax benefit and the fulfillment of generous giving. Isn’t it wonderful that our future generation is setting an example we can all be proud of? If you are interested in donating to this exceptional program please click the donate button below. Please help Zoe and the CARE Kids help those who need it most!
